No time
May 27th, 2005 by marla pascucciI was lucky.
Okay, I was THAT person; that enviable girl who ate (and drank) everything and never gained a pound. Well, karma caught up at 30, and the weight just stuck. I tried eating less, eating only fruit before noon, eating nothing after 7, drinking huge amounts of water…nothing helped. I felt doomed, tired, and huge. I didn’t have time (or money) to join a gym, and the only exercise I seemed to have time for was being neurotic.
One day, in the middle of a particularly annoying work day, I took a ten-minute walk around the city. I figured the change of scenery would help my mood. And though the week continued bleakly on, my ten-minute escape walk cheered me up.
But then, the best thing happened. As a gingerly stepped on the scale a week later, I had lost three pounds. Yes, I was watching my weight, but the extra exercie made a difference.
Give it a try. And escape.
