Want to be Slimmer for Summer?

“Diet” is such a loaded word. That’s probably why registered dietitian Vanessa Miles boiled the dieting process down to 3 simple steps:
1. Breakfast
“Breakfast really is an essential start to your day.”
I love suggestions like this (”in order to lose weight, eat something!”). But it makes sense — so long as your breakfast of choice isn’t an Egg McMuffin.
2. Portion Control
A study published in “Obesity Research” found that 38 percent of participants who consistently practiced food portion control, lost 5 percent or more of their baseline weight than other participants.
I’ve found that simply using smaller plates prevents my meals from getting out of control.
3. Physical Activity
You knew this was coming, right? Of course.
“The health benefits of 30 minutes of physical activity each day are many.” Obvious, but true.
