Psych Yourself Out!
December 13th, 2006 by Kathleen MilazzoI’ve started doing a couple different things in order to loose weight.
The first thing is, is that I eat too fast. It takes about twenty minutes after you eat for your brain to tell the rest of you that you are full and to stop eating. If you eat too fast, and keep eating till you are full, you will have already eaten too much by the time you feel it. The answer is to slow down, and to have something very lo-cal or no-cal twenty minutes before you start eating.
A great way to slow down is to use chopsticks to eat with. Most Americans are very clumsy with them and even if you can manage using them, they don’t hold as much food per bite as a spoon or fork.
Also serve your food on a small plate instead of dinner size. It will fool you into thinking you have more food than you really have.
A full glass of water or a light salad or clear soup twenty minutes before the meal, will go a long way to help.

Well… I’m Asian… eating slow with chopsticks is a little impossible for me…
