Eating Fruit on the Atkins Diet
June 17th, 2007 by Lynn LittleWhen someone thinks of what you can eat on the Atkins Diet, fruit might not be the first thing that comes to mind. The first two weeks of the Atkins Diet are very strict where dieters must keep their carbs between 20-40 grams a day. Once those two weeks are over, the plan does allow for more foods to be slowly introduced back into your diet. There are some low carb fruits that are good to eat on the Atkins Diet.
Here is a list of some fruits that have under 10 grams of carbs per serving.
Fresh Grapefruit has 9.5 grams of carbs for 1/2 cup.
Honeydew Melon 7.8 for 1/2 cup.
Cantaloupe 7.4 for 1/2 cup.
Watermelon 5.5 for 1/2 cup.
Crenshaw Melon 5.3 1/2 cup.
A small Peach 8.8.
Canned Pears in water 9.5 1/2 cup.
Fresh Pineapple 9.6 1/2 cup.
Rhubarb 2.8 1/2 cup.
Fresh Strawberries 5.1 1/2 cup.
Tangerine 7.8.
