Keep Moving
October 2nd, 2007 by Lynn LittleExercise is my weakest area when it comes to weight loss. I know I need to workout, take a walk, and weight train. It’s getting started that is the real hard part. Making time for working out is really challenging these days.
Some advice I read about exercise is that there are a lot of activities you can do even if you don’t have time for a full workout. I’m also hoping that by doing these exercises that I will eventually build up to a full 30 minute workout.
If you only have a few minutes, do a couple of minutes of jumping jacks. This advice is from Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper. I tried doing two minutes but only made it about a minute, so I took a break and then did another minute. Hopefully if I keep at it I will build up to two minutes
Jogging or walking in place for just a few minutes can help get the heart rate going. Anytime the heart rate gets going with exercise it is a good thing for your workout, even if your workout is only five minutes.
The important thing about exercise is to try to do something each day even if it’s only for five minutes. Set a timer and get to moving. Do five minutes a couple of times during the day like in between watching TV programs. The more activity that you engage in, the more you will want to do. If I keep at it hopefully I will build up to my 30 minutes a day, then I can increase my exercise goals.
