Atkins Fan
April 20th, 2008 by Karen TruaxFive years ago when the Atkins craze hit America, I had tried every diet out there with zero results. Hell, I even tried the barf inducing cabbage soup diet! So when I started Atkins I never believed it would work. Well its my testimony to report that on August 15th 2003 I weighed 160lbs. I lost 50lbs steadily over the following two years and have been able to maintain that loss right up to today.
The menu is the best! Steak, Lobster, butter, cream cheese, bacon , eggs even whipped cream. Whats not to love. I eventually even got over my pasta craving using Dreamfield’s pastas. Although I’m not a advocate of commercial low carb foods. Dreamfield’s is the one exception because its really the only way you can cheat with the pasta on this diet. I challenge anyone to tell the difference in taste between Dreamfield’s and regular pasta.
Sure after awhile you start to miss your breads and sweets but you will just have to console yourself with a tenderloin steak and salad. Its certainly better than a half of grapefruit and a cup of black tea! Or carrot sticks and yogurt! The point is you can eat hearty quantities of allowable food and not feel like your starving yourself to death.
If you do decide to try Atkins, you must include 8 full glasses of water in your daily diet and take a good multi vitamin each day.

Thanks, Karen. Not so often do we read about someone who has been doing “Atkins” for as long as you and still offer good reports. I KNOW this way of eating works for me. I’m about to embark again tomorrow on the ONLY way of living and eating that works- The Atkins Plan!! I allowed myself to be drawn away a few years back by sugar and white flour and it’s (I think) killing me slowly. I always feel sluggish. The pounds I’ve piled back on prove to me every day that I need to get a “grip” and start over. I lost 50 pounds on this diet 5 years ago and kept it off 3 years until I changed back to old habits.
