Get Active the Simple Way

You can get active the simple way to increase the number of calories that you burn.  For example, don’t park up close to the building you are going to enter for errands or shopping.  Park at the far corner of the parking lot and briskly walk to and from the building.  This is a great way to get in some walking without feeling like you’re doing a lot of exercising.

Take the stairs every time instead of the elevator or escalator. If you have a front porch or deck with stairs, make a few extra trips up and down them each day while you are on break.  This is a great way to burn calories the simple way.

Another great way to burn calories is to move while you are sitting.  If you are watching your favorite television show, lift you feet up and down or lift your arms up and down.  You can get in plenty of movement without interrupting your show or having work out equipment.

If you are at your desk, tap your foot.  Your hands get plenty of movement typing.  Stand for a while as you type.  Twirl around in your chair a few times.  Do leg lifts.  This will keep your blood circulating and get you active at the same time.
