The South Beach Diet

If losing weight this year is your main goal, try the south beach diet. You will really lose 8-13 lbs. with the first two weeks. But before you start with this diet, you should have conditioned yourself in sticking to the meal plan. Phase 1,the first two weeks are the nerve wracking, crucial weeks in your life. Imagine not eating any carbohydates; and i’m talking about rice, pasta, sugar, bread, not even whole wheat bread. Fruits are also banned in the first two weeks. Youa re only allowed to drink water. The main rationale behind the no-fruits rule is that it helps you banish your cravings for sweet food. By the time you are done with the first two weeks you will be amazed not only with the the pounds you lose, but you will also have a more controlled and disciplined way of eating. You can add new food into your diet on the third week; like whole wheat bread, fruits and juices. But it is still recommended to eat in moderation. This is what they call Phase 2 wherein you can stay on this phase until you achieved your desired weight. Phase 3 is called the maintenance phase wherein you can eat all kinds of food but still following the guiding principles of Phase 1 and 2.
