Making Exercise A Habit
June 19th, 2008 by ffExercising is something that takes a lot of dedication and determination. If we want to stay healthy, exercising on a regular and long-term basis needs to be a part of our lifestyle. Here are a few tips to help make exercise a habit.
Exercise at the same time every day. If you get into a routine for exercising and you make it a part of your daily schedule, it will be like clockwork to do it.
Join a health club. Having to pay the bill monthly will be enough incentive to make people get out the door and exercise.
Journal progress. Keep a daily log of your exercise activities, how you feel after each, and your times and speeds if applicable.
Use your calendar. Put your exercise times on your calendar.
Check your progress. Along with journaling, track how well you are doing and if you are walking further, etc.
Sign a contract. Create a contract that commits yourself to exercising.
