Worst Diets ever?

July 27th, 2008 by cotton yuson

i was reading some articles on dieting from www.webmd.com when i came across this list of worst diets ever. with all the coming and goings of fad diets nowadays, it is truly hard to decide which one a person who wants to weight loss should really concentrate into. besides unbelievable taglines that claim miraculous kinds of weight loss diets, other diets sounds too good to be true. one should not be so desperate to go into a kind of diet without first acquiring enough information about it. one should even consult with their doctor’s first so as not to endanger one’s health when already decided about the kind of diet they want to pursue. anyway, a diet should not be only on a temporary basis but one should consider incorporating it with their lifestyles.

according to webmd, a few of the worst diet fads are:
1. diets focusing only on a single food group such as cabbage or soup diet. when a person’s diet is restricted only to a single food group, he would nutrients that can be found in other food groups. one could also get tired of eating the same thing everyday and would surely crave for something that is restricted by their diet.

2. Detox diets such as The Martha’s Vineyard Detox diet, our body system has enough organs that detoxifies our bodies from harmful toxins and whatever cleansing that we need.

3. Miracle food diets that recommends a food group or supplements for weight loss.

4. Fasting and low-calorie diets such as the vegan diets. i’ve always read that when we deprive our body with much needed calories and during fasting, our body would adjust and store up fat for energy.

5. diets that sounds too good to be true such as those claiming for “secret” way or other statements that contradict heal organizations.
